Air Canada Announces New Non-Stop Flights To The U.S.

The flag carrier Air Canada recently announced new routes connecting Canada and the United States. According to the information shared in a press release, the airline will serve daily non-stop flights from Halifax to Newark and from Vancouver to Houston. 

The new flights will begin operations in December for a year, providing travelers with more options to visit these destinations and more connectivity to other locations and networks.

Mark Galardo, Senior Vice President, Network Planning and Revenue Management at Air Canada, said: “With these new routes from Halifax and Vancouver, Air Canada is meeting demand in these important markets and building on our strengthened trans-border partnership with United Airlines to solidify our leadership in the Canada-U.S. market.”

And added: “These routes will give customers in Atlantic and Western Canada more convenient options for flying to the U.S. They will reinforce the already strong links between Atlantic Canada and New York, while for customers in Western Canada, they will provide more options for reaching destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean through United Airlines’ Houston hub. They will also facilitate many new one-stop connections from the U.S. onto Air Canada’s extensive domestic and global network.”

Air Canada also shared data related to an improvement in connectivity between both countries, with these new routes, the network will expand 6% above pre-pandemic levels in 2019.

The Canadian airline also recently added non-stop flights to Cozumel for the fall and winter seasons. More Canadians will be able to escape freezing temperatures and heavy snow in exchange for warm weather and beautiful beaches in the Mexican Caribbean.

About The New Routes

The new non-stop flights connecting Halifax to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey will begin on December 16 this year.

Air Canada will serve this route daily in an all-economy cabin aircraft, the  Air Canada Express Q-400. These are the new non-stop flights details:

The new route from Vancouver to  Houston will also start serving daily flights for passengers on December 16, but these non-stop flights will operate with ​​Air Canada Airbus A220 and will offer Business and Economy cabins options.

Travelers from western Canada will be able to visit Texas and also take advantage of the connections in this airport to reach other destinations in the United States or Latin America, and the Caribbean. These are the new route details:

Air Canada also clarified that these new routes apply for benefits for their customers and frequent flyer programs like Maple Leaf Lounge access, points accumulation, and redemption, and Aeroplan members also get priority check-in.
